Question icon Accordion icon white How do I apply for a grant?Icon Plus

We do not accept unsolicited proposals. Instead, we directly invite proposals by contacting organisations. There are so many great programmes out there, but we can't fund everything, so instead, we concentrate our resources on cultivating partnerships with key organisations to maximise our effectiveness and efficiency.

Question icon Accordion icon white How are funding partners selected?Icon Plus

We get the best results by working with partners who have been working in the countries we support for a long time, and who know the context well. That's why we partner with programmes managed by a combination of established and well-regarded NGOs (nongovernmental organisations), IGOs (intergovernmental organisations) and other organisations. These partnerships help us to secure top experts, develop innovative approaches, influence stakeholders and achieve scalable impact.

Question icon Accordion icon white How are funding decisions made?Icon Plus

Our funding decisions are based on alignment with:

  1. Our Sustainable Mining Plan that aims to improve people's lives in the communities we operate in.
  2. Anglo American Core Values and Critical Foundations
  3. The capacity to create systemic impact in an effective and efficient way.
  4. Countries that Anglo American has a large footprint in.

Actions that fund activities that would ordinarily be deemed to be business activities; this includes:

  • Actions that relate to the benefit of the Anglo American business.
  • Activities of a political or religious nature
  • Sponsorships
  • Funding for private companies, (with the exception that it is a contribution to community development programmes through measures such as enterprise and supplier development for the benefit of host communities).
  • Direct donations or grants to individuals.
  • Activities not located in Anglo American countries of operation.
